 In 1997, X Communications developed the CommServer on Unix and NT. Demand was strong but margins shrinking. Deciding to focus more on software development, X Com shipped it's first software product, xD in 1987. Since then, the development of new products, and the acquisition of Voltage and Istream has positioned X Com as a leader in the industry with xTEAM as the main product, offering it to ISPs on a monthly basis.
